Fight illnesses

I'm a new member of Results, a group represented in almost every U.S. state and in many other countries. We, the peoples of our world, care to focus now on well-being for everyone, especially those with AIDS, TB and malaria. Thank goodness polio is almost unheard of, but it took my father's life at age 32 in less than one week, in 1945.

We must extend a promise to finance funding to those suffering worldwide. At the end of September a decision by President Barack Obama and others will be made to sign a commitment for the next six years under the Global Fund to achieve this goal, which was founded in 2003. Already 5.7 million lives have been relieved of AIDS, TB and malaria.

I wrote a letter to my congressman, asking him to write a letter to our president to support a $6 billion fund that will be used over the next three years. Lots of letters to your government servants are being sent as I write. To learn more around the global fund go to www.TheGlobalFund.org.
